One of the best things about staying in Grand Cayman is the food. The island punches well above its weight when it comes to dining, with everything from casual beachside fish fries to world-class fine dining. After years of hosting guests at BeachLane, these are the restaurants we recommend again and again.
Beachfront & Casual
Macabuca Tiki Bar
If you only visit one beach bar on the island, make it Macabuca. Perched right at the ocean's edge in West Bay, this no-frills tiki bar serves ice-cold Caybrew, excellent fish tacos, and some of the most spectacular sunset views on the island. Arrive early for a good seat — this place fills up fast.
Bonny Moon Beach Club
The beating heart of Seven Mile Beach nightlife. Wood-fired dishes, handcrafted cocktails, and live music most evenings create an atmosphere that's impossible not to love. It's the kind of place where you pop in for one drink and stay for three hours.
Heritage Kitchen
A West Bay institution. This roadside gem serves the freshest grouper, snapper, and fish fritters you'll find anywhere, cooked right beside the Caribbean Sea. Featured by the New York Times and beloved by locals for generations. Get there early — it sells out.
Mid-Range Gems
The Brixton
Inspired by London's legendary neighborhood, The Brixton serves jerk chicken, wood-fired pizzas, and hearty pastas in a warm, festive atmosphere. Locals swear the thin-crust pizza is the best on the island, and we're inclined to agree.
Lloyd's Smokehouse
If you're craving proper barbecue, Lloyd's delivers. Their custom-built smokers fire up 8 to 12 hours before service, producing pork ribs, brisket, and chicken with deep, smoky perfection. Great cocktails and big screens make it a solid spot for game night too.
Coccoloba Bar & Grill
Set right in the sand at the Kimpton Seafire, Coccoloba fuses Caymanian seafood with coastal Mexican flavors. Tuesday's Taco y Tequila night is legendary. Every sunset here looks like it was designed for Instagram.
Fine Dining
Luca Restaurant
Italian fine dining meets Caribbean sunsets at the Caribbean Club on Seven Mile Beach. Luca's handmade pastas and fresh seafood dishes are beautifully executed, and the oceanfront terrace is one of the most romantic dinner spots on the island.
Tillie's
Tucked inside the stylish Palm Heights hotel, Tillie's serves eclectic Caribbean cuisine inspired by the Greater Antilles. Fragrant curries, beautifully plated seafood, and creative vegan dishes in an elegant-yet-relaxed setting. Perfect for a special evening out.
Morgan's Seafood Restaurant
Perched over the glassy waters of Governor's Creek, Morgan's combines panoramic marina views, live jazz, and an ocean-to-table seafood menu. One of George Town's most romantic dining destinations.
Our Top Tip
Make reservations for fine dining spots, especially during high season (December through April). Casual places are usually walk-in friendly, but arriving early guarantees the best seats.
